Stylehaus Event featuring Fredric Fekkai

December 14

Upon arriving at the Stylehaus I was promptly greeted by one of the stylists  who explained the premise behind it was to give people the individualized styling that celebrities and the very wealthy get at a membership rate of ($1,000/yr).  I love this concept and their where many different style pieces. Some clothing was by designers we have all come to love, however there were many designers that I had not heard of before. This was a refreshing change to speciality store. In addition, Stylehaus gave more options than a boutique which typically goes for one style, boho chic or shop somewhere else!

At the Frederic Fekkai salon my Persian stylist gave me at blowout which I was very happy with, but unfortunately it did not stand the test of time. In about 2 hours my hair was flat again, and I could not blame it on the humidity. The staff at the salon was very accommodating and pleasant to be around especially Megan and Beatrice. My friend, Jackie, also had her hair done in curls and it lasted the rest of the evening. Therefore,  I am going to blame my fine hair for the failed attempt.

Swarovski Elements Party

Swarovski crystals like ice o how nice! The Swarovski Elements Party on November 21st marked the unveiling of the holiday décor that will adorn Rodeo Drive throughout the holiday season. Jessica Alba was the host for this crystal-studded event. After the unveiling, there was private cocktail reception at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. The tables were labeled “Let it Sparkle” and the white couches had Swarovski crystal pillows fittingly. Attendees sipped the signature martini with sparking silver drizzle and ate hor d’ oeuvres that were circulating the room all to the music of Alexandra Richards.

Very, UK’s Largest Shop at Home Retailer gets a dot com!

Introducing a very special brand to the US – very.com

The UK’s largest shop at home retailer, Shop Direct Group, is delighted to announce the launch of Very.com in the US. This dedicated site has been created to offer the fashion-conscious American consumer the best of British style with fashion-forward exclusive British ranges, trends and designer brands.

The Very.com site is easy to navigate and offers shipping, planned to take around five days, free for orders over $98 (with free returns too). Whilst focusing on ease of use and the fundamentals of a great customer experience, the team at Very.com has kept sight of the core principle of this new online store – to have unique British products, at great prices, in partnership with US and UK celebrities.

Very.com is pleased to be working with a number of celebrity ambassadors including America’s Whitney Port, from The Hills and The City. Whitney was keen to partner with Very.com as she recognises its fashion credentials at the same time as providing a perfect fit for her own Whitney Eve range.

Group Retail Director Gareth Jones said: “We are hugely excited about our launch into the US. We have done our homework, talking to thousands of customers across the USA and we’re confident our women’s and men’s ranges, including our exclusive British fashion brands such as Love Label and Goodsouls, will prove as popular Stateside as they are in the UK.

“On top of our extensive fashion range, we’ll be updating customers on all the latest trends and we’re especially excited about our regular “Street Style” blog, where we’ll be out on the streets of London to get the inside track on what’s hot.”

Jones added: “We have certainly enjoyed working with Whitney and are excited to be stocking her Whitney Eve range. We know it will be a massive hit for us both here and in the UK and we are grateful to Whitney for her enthusiasm in helping us launch Very.com successfully in America.

“We are sure our US customers will enjoy browsing the Very.com site and will take advantage of our very special offers”.

Very.co.uk Check it Out!

I really like the look of these suits. I would recommend buying either the black or silver sheen pant and then both blazers. Not only are these options great for a holiday party, these jackets also offer the versatility to wear them with jeans to drinks with friends.

Must Have Fishtail Wrap

A fishtail dress is a beautiful option for the holidays with jacket, and then carries over to your spring wardrobe. If you only buy one dress in the next few months, this is a must have! I want it! Here are two options featuring the fishtail wrap at different price points. The Fuchia skirt is by Jenni Kayne ($695) and the blue dress is Rory Beca ($218).

LA Fashion Week-Gypsy05 Show

The Gypsy 05 show was a first class event! I loved the venue, Vibiana, and the courtyard provided an exquisite location for drinks and socializing. I was even able to get a quick make-up touch up from the Napoleon make up artist, Leo, who was on hand to make people just a little more glam. The inside was a stark white that became the canvas for the projected scenes and colors that complemented each Gypsy05 clothing group. I loved the textured look created by many of the patterns in the first group. The styling and make up was fitting for the line and evoked thoughts of the American Southwest Indians.

I adored the fishtail hem gown that started off the second group. The cut was beautiful and the material added on the side would look beautiful blowing in the wind on a beach. I was not crazy about the boxy light blue dress with fringe on the bottom. This silhouette is not flattering on very many people and I believe most women prefer to accentuate the positive and “hide” (via SPANX or such) the negative. Possibly with different styling I may have liked it more.

In the third group my favorite was the beautiful kelly green color that was used in many of the items. I love this color for resort and spring and anticipate we will be seeing more of it. The items I want from this collection are the kelly green jumper and beautiful printed dress that goes from white to green with an embroidered flower motif LOVE!

On top of all this the gift bags for the front row included a Clair sonic, Voce’ hair product, and Napoleon make up which I thought was a nice gift and my favorite of LA Fashion Week/ Weekend.

Bottom line: The line was very wearable and evoked the bohemian vibe for which Gypsy is known

Swim Show LA Fashion Weekend

I would love to be positive so I will start with what I loved about the show and then recap the more unpleasant findings.  Love the magenta suit with corset black detail by Beach Rays! The nude ruffle top with skirt was also fab! Finally the bright blue bikini with Brazilian bottoms and black accents was great against the model’s skin tone. Love the prints offered by the CULTURE Line, and the interesting elastic back detail. However, the suits looked ill fitting. The Nicole Lee handbag line was defiantly not my style either, even if given a bag I would not wear it! Credit is do to their PR firm though for getting them in all the major publications.  The handbags look cheap, like something from Santee Alley and the models looked unbalanced carrying them.  On the other hand I really love the Nicole Lee shoes, almost all of them!

Styling… was this even a thought for the show? So sad that the styling was so BAD for the shows including the “Betsey Johnson Melrose collection” it looked nothing like Betsey’s styling where is the tulle! In addition, I hope the models for this show were volunteers, if they were paid I would want a refund.  There was one girl that could walk and had a great bikini bod, but the rest need to watch ANTM to get a clue. Lastly, the gift bags were lack luster, a notepad and flavored water. Disappointed.

Love Walter Steiger

Walter Steiger is a genius for moving the heel back and adding the curve to his heels. I love all of these, but my favorites for Winter are these Woodsman style heels. Wish they came in faux fur! How would I style these… almost any outfit you would typically wear Uggs. These will give a sophisticated edge to any casual winter fit!

Men’s Winter Fashion my Favorite Looks

The best thing about these items is the flexibility, it is very easy to mix and match almost every piece! My second favorite thing about these items from asos.com is the price point. Even if you can afford designer duds, why? Save your money for your next date; )
